Hino’s N04C turbo-diesel engine offers a class-leading combination of power and torque. The 4.0-litre engine is equipped with a common-rail fuel injection system and Variable Nozzle Turbo (VNT) technology to achieve lower emissions and uncompromised power and fuel efficiency. Meeting both strict Euro 3 and Enhanced Environmentally-Friendly Vehicle (EEV) emissions standards, the model’s gain in power, torque and fuel efficiency have been achieved through careful attention to engine design, turbocharger pressures and the high-pressure (Common Rail) electronic fuel injection.

Transmission
All Hino diesel-engine 300 Series models come standard with a manual transmission. The Hino GVW 7.5 Tons & 8.5 Tons comes in six forward speed while the Hino GVW 3.5 Tons, 5.5 Tons & 6.5 Tons comes in 5 forward speed. Hino’s six-speed manual transmission has synchromesh on first and reverse gears for increased durability and all-round ease of operation. The manual shift lever on 4x2 manual models is also collapsible, to provide slide-across access for the driver or passenger when in tight parking locations.
